A Message From DG Woulfin On World Peace!
As you know, one of the main objects of Rotary International is promoting world peace through good will and better international understanding. Many of our Rotary programs promote this goal and in April 2008, RI President Wilf Wilkinson will be hosting a Rotary Peace Summit in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
“Peace begins as home” in every family and community in which we live. For peace to exist in our world, we need awareness and peace in every street and place within each community. That is why this Presidential Conference will encourage the declaration or re-affirmation of current Peace Cities and Communities in all parts of our world.
As part of this global initiative, I encourage you to have your ‘Community Service’ committee join with other Rotary clubs in your municipality to meet with and promote the concept with community officials. Please work to elevate both the image of Rotary and awareness of both local and global community peace in our world.

Water For Ethiopia Project Launched!
The leadership of our District has chosen to show that “Rotary Shares” by undertaking a three-year $2.2 million water and sanitation project in Ethiopia. Current estimates are that about 78% of the people of Ethiopia lack access to clean water. One in six children die before reaching the age of three years, due to intestinal illnesses brought about by contaminated water. Over the next three years, our goal is to make a difference in Ethiopia.
