This Year, Rotary District 6900 will use the
conference theme of Rotary Heroes to celebrate the hundreds, if not
thousands of Rotary heroes right here in our own district. Our own
Rotarians are proving themselves as heroes every day in the projects and
programs being effected right here in Georgia communities as well as
their contributions to the Rotary Foundation which work to make lives better across the planet.
There is no yardstick for the measure of a Rotary Hero. They come in all shapes and sizes and more importantly, they come at all levels of service to their community and fellow mankind. A Rotarian serving a couple days a week helping young people learn to read plays a vital role in bettering their community as surely as a Rotarian who is traveling the world to participate in Polio vaccinations. Each and every Rotarian fulfills the role of Hero in their own contributions and service level.
Look around your Rotary club today and identify those who are serving as heroes in your community or the world. Then, come to the 2012 Conference in Sandestin and tell the district about those heroes. A "Hall of Heroes" will be waiting there as a place where your club can recognize the contributions made over the Rotary year ensuring that no Rotary hero goes without recognition. Come celebrate the 2012 Conference theme of Rotary Heroes!
