Roy Strickland

 Roy Strickland is a native of Atlanta and a graduate of Georgia State University. He joined Smyrna Rotary in 1996 and served as club President in 1997-1998 - with a second term in 2006-2007.
Roy has twice been named Smyrna’s Rotarian of the Year. He has served as Smyrna’s Vocational Service Director and multiple terms as Foundation Chair and International Service Director.
Roy has served the District twice as Vocational Service Chair and multiple terms as Paul Harris Society Chair. He has served on the membership committee and as Rotary Foundation Team Representative. Numerous times he has been a facilitator at PETS, District Assembly, and at the Foundation Seminar.

Roy is the recipient of the Sheffield Leadership Award and has been named District 6900 Rotarian of the Year. He has twice been awarded the District Foundation Service Award and is a recipient of The Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious Service.
Roy met his wife, Suzanne, while both were students at Georgia State. They have lived in East Cobb for 24 years and are active members of Roswell Presbyterian Church. Suzanne is heavily involved with volunteer work for Children’s Health Care of Atlanta. Roy and Suzanne have 2 adult sons, a daughter-in-law and 2 grandsons.
 Roy is a Paul Harris Fellow, a Charter Member of The Paul Harris Society, a Will Watt Fellow, and a GRSP Sustaining Member. He has perfect Rotary attendance since 1996. Suzanne is a Paul Harris Fellow and she and Roy are Foundation Major Donors.
Roy has been in the automobile business most of his adult life. He now deals in investment properties and owns a business in Cobb County. He remains active in various civic and business endeavors.
